Proper Care of Your Eyelash Extensions
If you want to get the most out of your eyelash extensions, it is
important to properly care for them. Lash extensions that are not properly
cared for will fall out sooner and can even be the cause of irritation
for the eyes. In order to maintain good ocular health, as well as lengthen
the life of your extensions, it is imperative that you practice proper
maintenance of your eyelash extensions. If you properly care for your
extensions, they will likely remain in place until the natural lashes
that hold them fall out.
The beauty of eyelash extensions is that they are fairly maintenance
free. There is not a whole lot that needs to be done in order to facilitate
their upkeep. After all, they are just an extension of the natural lash.
They are designed to enhance your eyes and add a thicker, fuller look
to the eyelashes. If you follow a few simple rules, you will be able
to easily maintain your lash extensions and keep them much longer.
With the proper attention to the care of your eyelash extensions, you
can enjoy them for even more than the two months with refilling them
in between (every two to three weeks) that most salons say is the average
life of the extensions. It is possible to have lash extensions last
for as many as 100 days with proper maintenance.
What is the difference between Eyelash Extensions and traditional
false lashes?
The major differences are the following: adhesive formula; lash type,
application technique, lash appearance and lasting duration. Traditional
false lashes are usually made with a strip or with multiple lashes knotted
together and are applied directly on the eyelid using adhesive formulas
that dry hard on the eyelid and lashes. They often cause discomfort
to the eyes and may cause your natural lashes to fall out prematurely.
Traditional false lashes usually last only a day to a few days, often
looking unnatural and feeling heavy on your eyes.
Eyelash Extensions are made to look identical to human lashes and are
crimp resistant; the adhesive is formulated for a permanent bond and
dries soft on lashes. The polypeptide bond allows lashes to remain flexible
and bouncy. Each eyelash extension is applied directly to the individual
lash, one lash at the time via a state-of-the-art technique.
How long does it stay?
Normally up to 2 months, the Eyelash Extensions will stay on your lashes
for the remaining lash life when applied correctly but it's up to you
to care for them properly. Please read "Going Home With Your NEW!
Eyelash Extensions. Especially the "no rubbing, picking or tugging
part"
When do I need to refill or touch-up?
The natural life of the lashes is about 30 days. Your own eyelashes
will grow out on a continuous cycle, so touching up the Eyelash Extensions
will help to maintain the fullness of lush lashes. Re-touching is highly
recommended every 2-3 weeks.
Can I wear mascara with my Eyelash Extensions?
Eyelash extensions naturally darken your lashes. Your lashes will look
vivid and mascara is not necessary. If desired, you may wear water-based
mascara on the tip of the Eyelash Extensions for enhancement. Never
use waterproof mascara. Any type of oil based eye makeup remover may
not be used at all. Rubbing directly on the eyelash extensions, or using
an oil based eye makeup remover will weaken the bonding. Water-based
mascara should come off with just soap and water while washing your
face or showering.
What are Eyelash Extensions made of? And do they come in different
colors and sizes?
Eyelash Extensions are made of a synthetic material, which is very soft
and naturally curved. Eyelash Extensions are crimp-resistance and flexible.
Size and thickness availability ranges from 8mm, 10mm, 12mm and 14mm.
Comes in black and extra curved black and you can also get highlights
of blue, purple or brown!
Do Eyelash Extensions damage natural lashes?
No, not at all! Eyelash Extensions' adhesive is formulated to create
a polypeptide bond, specifically for human lashes. The adhesive dries
very soft on lashes, allowing the extensions to stay flexible and bouncy
just like your own lashes. These Extensions will adhere softly and comfortably
and will not damage your natural lashes or causing the natural lashes
to fall out. *In rare cases, thoses who have itchy, dry sensitive eyes
may not react well to having lash extensions on - please consult with
your aesthetician if you are on any medication, have extreme allergies
or may have had eye problems and infections in the past.
Can the Lashes be removed?
Yes, at any time for any reason. They can be easily removed using our
organic remover. Simply follow the instructions listed on the lashes
remover bottle, it is very easy and comfortable. Remember to rinse well.
Going Home With Your NEW! Eyelash Extensions
* Do not wet your new set of eyelash extensions for 24 hours.
This includes swimming, splashing the face and/or immersing your head
underwater. This will interfere with the bonding and cause the eyelash
extensions to fall out. Try taking a bath or leaning your head back
to shampoo your hair.
* Do not rub your eyes or tug at the extensions.
Not only is rubbing your eyes harmful to the health of your eyes, but
it can also rip your extensions out or remove your natural lashes (and
the extensions bonded to them). Rubbing your eyes can introduce diseases
into the eyes and damage them. And it can damage the look you have achieved
by causing extensions to fall.
* Oil-based beauty products should not be used around the eyes while
you are wearing extensions.
This includes creamy makeup, oil based or duo phase eye makeup remover,
skin creams, rich eye creams
nd cleansers. These will interfere with the bonding, break down the
glue and cause the eyelash extensions to fall out.
* Use an eyelash brush. Part of good maintenance is a neat appearance.
Gently using an eyelash brush will help improve the look and length
of the natural lashes as well as the lash
xtensions. Oils and bacteria from the hands can transfer and interfere
with the bonding. Additionally, the brush
ill keep lashes and extensions from clumping or sticking together.
* Be careful of what other beauty products you use.
Most people are so pleased with the look of their eyelash extensions
that they do not feel that the use of
ascara is warranted or necessary. However, it is possible to use mascara
when you have extensions; it should be water based, however, and not
waterproof. Waterproof mascara’s agents interfere with the adhesive
used on semi permanent eyelash extensions and can cause the bonding
solution to become compromised, resulting in the fall of your extensions.
How to Apply False Eyelashes
What you will need:
- A pair of false lashes
- False eyelash glue
- Tweezers
- Scissors
- Eyelash curler
- Hairpin or eyelash applicator
- Eyeliner
- Mascara
Step 1: Do your eye makeup as you would normally
and remember to line your top lashes.
Step 2: Choose a pair of false lashes that you want
to wear.
Step 3: Take them out from the box carefully with a
pair of tweezers or an eyelash applicator made specifically for applying
falsies. Trim the lashes a little to make sure they fit the shape and
length of your eye. Or we can custom cut them free of charge for you!
Step 4: Curl your lashes with an eyelash curler pressing
enough for a light curve.
Step 5: Put some glue on the strip of the falsie. Try
not to put too much or else it will become a mess.
Step 6: Let the glue slightly dry.
Step 7: When the glue starts turning tacky, press the
strip onto the base of your lashes. Hold for a few seconds. * If you
don’t have an eyelash applicator, you can use a hair pin or tweezers.
Start in the middle then work towards the inner and outer corners.
Step 8: Re-adjust if necessary.
Step 9: Once the glue is completely dry, make sure
there are no spaces between your lash-line and the fake lashes. If you
see a white line, it means the lashes should be put closer to your lash-line.
You can either start all over or fix the problem by filling in the gap
with a black liner.
Step 10: Apply mascara onto your natural lashes so
they blend in with the falsies. This step is optional.
Step 11: Voila! Lush Lashes and Big eyes in no time!
